The Coffs Colts continued their strong form with a hard-fought three-wicket win over the Diggers in their two-day clash.
Colts’ bowlers set the tone early, applying relentless pressure on the Diggers’ batting order. Despite a resilient 70 from Alex Byrne and 37 from Joseph Willman, wickets fell at regular intervals. Matthew Francis was the standout, claiming 4/33 from 12 overs, while Andrew Firth and Codey Moran chipped in with two wickets each. Daryl Parmenter closed the innings with 2/45, restricting Diggers to 150 all out.
In reply, the Colts displayed a strong batting effort. Andrew Firth anchored the innings with a classy 72 not out, while Daryl Parmenter took the attack to the bowlers with an aggressive 94, falling just short of a deserved century. Handy contributions from Craig Haworth (22) and Trent Statham (16) pushed the Colts to a commanding 7/248, giving them a valuable first-innings lead.
Needing a big effort in the second dig, the Diggers showed more resilience with the bat. Sam Davey led the way with a well-made 50, while Alex Byrne (43) and Joseph Willman (31) also added runs. However, once again the Colts’ bowlers found breakthroughs at crucial times. Moran picked up 2/25, Parmenter continued his all-round display with 2/23, and Josh Noble added 1/25, restricting Diggers to 6/176 declared.
Set a target, the Colts needed to hold their nerve. Despite a few hiccups along the way, the experienced Firth guided the innings, supported by contributions from the middle order. The Colts reached their goal 7 down, sealing a well-earned victory by three wickets.
This win highlighted the balance in the Colts’ side – sharp bowling led by Francis and Parmenter, backed up by strong batting performances from Firth and Parmenter. The victory keeps momentum rolling for the Colts as they look ahead to the rest of the season.

R2 Coffs Colts vs Coffs Tigers
The Colts showed plenty of fight in a thrilling two-day battle against cross-town rivals the Tigers, eventually falling just nine runs short of victory in a low-scoring arm wrestle. Despite the narrow result, the performance highlighted the Colts’ depth and resilience, with both bat and ball keeping the contest alive until the very end.
The Colts’ bowlers worked hard on a testing surface, never allowing the Tigers’ batting line-up to settle. Simon Donald (37) and Kieran Hogan (39) offered resistance, while Michael Bailey (21) and Nicolas Row (21) added handy runs. But consistent pressure from the Colts kept the Tigers to 183 all out.
Matthew Francis was again the pick of the attack, finishing with an excellent 4/63 from 13 overs, while Andrew Firth’s accuracy was rewarded with 2/20 off six overs, including three maidens. Daryl Parmenter (2/49) chipped in with key breakthroughs, and Craig Haworth wrapped things up with 1/0 to close the innings.
Chasing a tricky target, the Colts’ top and middle order showed grit but couldn’t quite find the big partnership needed. Matthew Rose (31) got the side off to a steady start before Daryl Parmenter added a well-made 36. Nathan Hinton (27), Andrew Firth (27), and Neil Coogan (23) all fought hard to edge the Colts closer to the total.
But the Tigers’ bowlers responded well, with skipper Kyle Paterson (3/27) and Michael Bailey (2/28) striking late to deny the Colts a comeback. Despite the efforts, the Colts were dismissed for 174, just nine runs shy of the Tigers’ total.
While the Colts didn’t quite secure the win, the match showcased the side’s bowling strength – led by Francis, Parmenter, and Firth – and their batting depth, with multiple players contributing in the chase. With such a close finish, the team can take plenty of positives moving forward, knowing they were within striking distance of turning the result in their favour.

R3 Coffs Colts vs Dorrigo
It was a tough, low-scoring battle out at the weekend, with the Coffs Colts putting in a strong showing against Dorrigo before eventually going down by three wickets. Despite the narrow result, there were plenty of positives for the Colts with both bat and ball.
The Colts were sent in on a tricky deck and found runs hard to come by. Opener Nathan Hinton (27) looked solid early, and Daryl Parmenter (55) stood tall with a gritty half-century that held the innings together. Despite their resistance, wickets fell regularly at the other end, and the Colts were dismissed for 132. Dorrigo’s bowlers shared the spoils, with Mick Gilroy (3/20) the most effective.
In reply, the Colts struck early and kept themselves right in the contest with an excellent all-round bowling performance. Craig Haworth (4/27) was the standout, ripping through the middle order with pace and precision. Parmenter backed up his batting heroics with an incredible spell of 1/7 from 9 overs, tightening the screws. Matthew Francis (1/25) and Codey Moran (1/30) also chimed in with key breakthroughs to keep the game alive.
Despite this pressure, Dorrigo’s Justin Gilbert (71 not out) proved the difference, guiding his side home with patience and composure. Supported by handy runs from Bruce Mackie (16) and Ben Neaves (17), Dorrigo edged past the Colts’ total to finish 7/134, claiming a three-wicket win.
Although the result didn’t fall their way, the Colts can take plenty of positives from the match. Parmenter’s all-round effort (55 & 1/7) and Haworth’s brilliant four-wicket haul showcased the side’s fight and quality. With more consistent partnerships, the Colts are well placed to turn these tight matches into wins in the weeks ahead.

R4 Coffs Colts vs Sawtell
The Coffs Colts fought hard across two days of cricket against Sawtell, showcasing resilience with the ball and flashes of brilliance with the bat, even though the final result went the way of the visitors.
The Colts’ bowling attack kept at Sawtell all innings, with regular breakthroughs ensuring the game remained alive. Craig Haworth (3/50) was the pick of the bowlers, striking at key moments to peg back Sawtell’s middle order. Young gun Jack O’Neill impressed with 3/19, showing great composure, while the ever-reliable Daryl Parmenter (2/37 off 17.4 overs) bowled a miserly spell that built pressure throughout. Matthew Francis also chipped in with 2/53, helping dismiss Sawtell for 224.
In response, the Colts’ innings started positively, with Matthew Rose (35) and Nathan Hinton (27) building a steady platform at the top of the order. However, wickets fell steadily as Sawtell’s bowlers applied the squeeze. Despite handy contributions from Neil Coogan (13), Brendan Gilvear (9), and Jack O’Neill (10), the Colts were eventually dismissed for 132 after 59 overs.
While Sawtell claimed first-innings points, the Colts showed encouraging signs, particularly with the ball. Haworth’s three wickets, O’Neill’s breakout 3/19, and Parmenter’s tight control highlighted the team’s strength in attack. With batting partnerships the only missing piece, the Colts will take plenty of belief into their upcoming fixtures knowing they are right in the contest against any opponent.

R5 Coffs Colts vs Nana Glen
The Coffs Colts claimed an impressive two-day victory over Nana Glen, chasing down the target with confidence on the back of a superb all-round team performance.
Nana Glen started brightly with Scott Morgan (40) and Troy Herbert (44) laying a handy platform, before Sam Dawes (52) pushed the total forward. But once again, the Colts’ bowlers found answers when needed. Daryl Parmenter was outstanding, taking 4/38 off 13.3 overs, tearing through the middle order and halting momentum.
He was well supported by Nathan Hinton (2/27), who struck with timely breakthroughs, while Matthew Francis (1/53), Daniel Harris (1/17), and Josh Noble (1/26) also chipped in. Despite some lower-order resistance from Scott Street (30),* Nana Glen were dismissed for 196 in 45.3 overs.
In response, the Colts’ top order absorbed the pressure and then countered superbly. Nathan Hinton (52) set the tone with a composed half-century, giving the innings the perfect start. From there, it was all about Daryl Parmenter, who backed up his bowling with a brilliant unbeaten 82, guiding the chase with class and authority.
Parmenter received good support from Trent Statham (18) and Craig Haworth (9),* while Joshua Noble added 14 in a handy partnership. The Colts reached the target confidently, finishing 4/201 in 59.5 overs to claim a strong six-wicket win.
It was another complete performance from the Colts, with Parmenter the standout thanks to his all-round heroics (82 & 4/38*). Hinton’s contribution with bat and ball was also crucial, while the bowling unit again showed depth and balance. This win underlines the strength of the Colts across all departments as they continue their push this season.

R6 Coffs Colts vs Diggers
The Coffs Colts produced a gritty team performance to edge out Diggers in a low-scoring two-day contest, with disciplined bowling and patient batting proving the difference.
On a tricky surface that offered plenty for the bowlers, the Colts fought hard to reach 137 from 54.2 overs. Partnerships were difficult to build as Diggers’ attack, led by Joseph Willman (6/32), kept asking questions. Though modest, the Colts knew 137 was a defendable score with their bowling attack in form.
Diggers faced the same challenges when they came to the crease, with the Colts’ bowlers hitting consistent lines and lengths. Wickets fell steadily, and no partnership was allowed to truly flourish. Colin Coombes (40) and Joseph Willman (30) gave Diggers hope, but the Colts’ attack stayed relentless.
Eventually, Diggers were bundled out for 122 in 48.4 overs, falling 15 runs short of the target. Every bowler played their part, maintaining pressure and forcing errors, as the Colts sealed a hard-fought victory.

The Colts batted again to consolidate their dominance, with Matthew Francis (32), Andrew Firth, and Matthew Rose contributing important runs. They finished on 154 in 41.2 overs, demonstrating depth and consistency in their batting lineup.
It was a complete performance from the Colts, highlighted by Daryl Parmenter’s seven-wicket haul, solid middle-order batting, and disciplined support from the rest of the bowling unit. The team showed composure under pressure to claim the win over their local rivals.

R9 Coffs Colts vs Sawtell (2 Day Fixture)
The Coffs Colts showcased discipline and grit with both bat and ball to claim a 48-run victory over Sawtell in their two-day clash.

Sawtell’s Blair Craddock (6/35 off 18 overs) was outstanding, while Taj Dosanjh (3 wickets) and Kieth Campbell (1/23) ensured the Colts had to fight hard for every run.
In reply, Sawtell’s batting lineup crumbled under immense pressure from the Colts’ bowlers. Matthew Francis (4/29 from 16 overs) and Andrew Firth (3/20) led the charge, dismantling the Sawtell top and middle order. Daniel Harris (2/10) also struck early, leaving Sawtell reeling at 81 all out in just 41 overs.
Chris Neal fought valiantly for Sawtell with 48 runs, but lacked support as wickets tumbled regularly around him.
The Colts’ ability to defend a modest first innings score highlighted their resilience and discipline. With Francis and Firth spearheading the attack, and excellent support from Harris and Moran, the Colts sealed an emphatic win to continue their strong season form.
