Colts secure minor premiership
March 13, 2011
On a overcast day at Richardson Park the Colts travelled to Sawtell on a mission to seal the minor premiership and didnt disappoint thanks to a well rounded performance.
The win made it more satisfying as the boys had to do it undermaned with 3 boys playing on debut. Colts winning the toss, made 7/179 off their alloted 45 overs with contributions from Man of the Match Nathan Hinton (49) and Doug Harris (36). Sawtell in reply were dismissed for 64 which included 2 hatrick chances.
An exclusive interview with stand in skipper Dave Angus, was naturally dissapointed but hinted that the boys will deal the cards they are dealt in the finals and expected that they will go into camp Wednesday night to plan for their must win game against Dorrigo in the minor semi final.
Umpire Tim Hedditch felt that the day was full of good hard cricket and hinted that he will be available if needed for the up and coming 20/20 final Wednesday night.
