Colts play tribute to their latest Emu
March 9, 2012
Coffs Colts goldenchild Trent ‘T’ Staham has enjoyed recent sucess in his recent tour of the Canterbury Province, NewZealand in January 2012.
Being part of the prestigious Emu Club outfit, Statham claimed four wickets in the last game as well as well a crucial 24* including a brilliant run out in their one day fixture abroad.
In a busy month for the Coffs Harbour sandwich artist, the Colts are extremely proud to have an Emu member amongst their ranks, something the Club hasn’t see since Benjamin Webb in 1995.
Colts treasurer, Matt Rose was fortunate to spend a minute with the talented allrounder at training and a modest Statham credits his stable relationship and support of his girlfriend as the secret to his success.
At just 20 years of age, it seems like Trent has been around for decades, as Matt recalls Trent as a 15 year old claiming 3 wickets in the Colts minor semi final win against Nana Glen in 2006-2007. He has also won back to back premierships with the famous Colts First Grade sides in 2009-10 & 2010-11.
With both Trents parents receiving life membership in April 2010, Trent has been around cricket all his life and the current Milo Junior Coordinator always has time for the development of the Colts future youngsters and the Colts wish to thank Trent for all his efforts.
